Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has indicated wiliness to partner with African Finance Corporation (AFC) towards reconstructing Atan-Lusada-Agbara Road. He made this disclosure while receiving a four-man delegation from the Corporation in Abeokuta yesterday, led by a Senior Director, Mr. Taiwo Adeniji.
The road has been in highly deplorable condition for six years. it lies within Nigeria’s biggest industrial hub located across Ado-Odo/Otta and Agbara-Igbesa Areas in Ogun State, serving over 70 indigenous and multinational manufacturing facilities. These include GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Unilever, Nestle, Beloxxi, Procter & Gamble, Sunsteel Industries, Cometstar, and GZ among others.
Governor Abiodun admitted Ogun State has a deep challenge with infrastructure, and indicated willingness to address issues of portable water, electricity, good roads and other amenities in the State. He commended AFC for the proposed investment in the State’s infrastructure development.
In his remarks, AFC Director Taiwo Adeniji said the Corporation is focusing on roads, power, telecommunications and heavy industries. It is currently developing infrastructure in 28 African countries and would be happy to assist Ogun State towards greater infrastructure development.
