APM Unveils Ogun State 2019 Elections Campaign Council

Ogun State Chapter of the Allied People’s Movement (Political) Party has unveiled its Campaign Council for the 2019 general elections in the State. This was performed by its Governorship Flag-bearer, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, while addressing the Campaign Council Inaugural Press Conference held in Abeokuta earlier today.

The Leaders of the Campaign Council are: Chief Sarafa Tunji Isola (Director General), Dr. Babatunde Ipaye (Deputy Director General), Hon. Toyin Ayebusiwa (Ogun East Senatorial Director), Chief Wole Adesiji (Ogun Central Senatorial Director) and Chief Jide Ojuko (Ogun West Senatorial Director).

In his welcome address, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade noted that Ogun State Chapter of APM is a people-oriented movement that would sustain the rebuilding mission which began seven years ago under the leadership of the incumbent Executive Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

According to Hon. Akinlade, “the mission to rebuild must be sustained and fast tracked to a logical conclusion in order to ensure peaceful succession, orderliness and sustainable development of our State”.

It will be recalled that the “Mission to Rebuild” is Ogun State Economic Development Plan launched by His Excellency Governor Ibikunle Amosun upon assumption of Office. The plan consolidates efforts towards promoting strong democratic principles, unity, security, stability, economic prosperity, social inclusiveness, and enhancement of Ogun State’s role in the national and regional economy. It laid emphasis on infrastructure delivery, expanding access to quality education, and enabling economic empowerment of the people.

The “Mission to Rebuild” agenda is the only Development Planning instrument in Nigeria, by which Government clearly expressed intention to be responsible for the provision of relevant services and enabling environment in other for people and businesses to thrive. The successful implementation has been unprecedented, and has equally provided the framework for development planning across other States and Federal Government.

In his inaugural address to the press, the Campaign DG noted that “Honourable Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade possesses requisite qualities for sustainable development of Ogun State, as a gentleman, seasoned professional and experienced democrat who has the character, capacity and capability to lead”.

Our correspondents have been reliably informed that the Campaign Headquarters will be commissioned tomorrow 18th December, and other members of the Campaign Council will be inaugurated same day. The Allied People’s Movement will officially flag-off its general elections campaign on Thursday 20th December 2018 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.
